I was driving near LV Mall last night, and 92.1 came up on my radio. They were playing rap music with a ton of bad language. They gave a 484 are code phone number. Anyone know who it is ? I never heard that station before.

Thanks for the tip. WDIY took over WXLV for this reason and they'll be more than happy to take these buffoons as well.

This could have been Hot 92/WWKL/Palmyra, PA (just east of Harrisburg). Although, I'm not sure about the 484 area code. The Harrisburg area is 717 area code.

Why would WDIY want to grab yet another frequency? Who elected them to be the Valley radio cops? WXLV was just another outlet to beg for their membership pledges, specifically in the north and west of the Valley, where there pathetic signals didn't already reach. They had their eyes on 90.3 for YEARS, waiting to pounce on that frequency at the earliest chance. As far as I'm concerned, the are wasting enough radio spectrum in the Lehigh Valley already...in a meeting with Burr Beard a few years back, he told me that WDIY's recording tape (yeah, analog tape!) was $10K a year. What? Were they not able to bulk erase reels? Talk about fleecing the public. They make so much with CPB / federal grants and corporate underwriting, to more than pay the rent, utilities, people on the payroll, etc., and yet they still cry poverty. Beware a wolf in sheep's clothing, Dr. Buffoon... Kudos to 92.1 for having the guts to do real programming for an underserved, increasing minority population ignored by so-called real radio stations in this area. Would WDIY have the guts to do a rap show on their stations? Probably not, since they couldn't pick the already empty pockets of the minority audience members...

I know for a fact that the staff at WDIY are fairly moderate. The Underwriting salesman is a Republican. And they play great music. They play Neko Case and other fine artist. In a nutshell the music programming is top notch and music from fine artist is being showcased. They do not have the false attitude that no good music has been made since 1981. There is plenty of great new music and you hear it on WDIY. The station lives in 2006. It is the hippest most vibrant station in the area. Outside of satellite tadio there is no other station worth listening to.

Also, of course WGPA on the AM is the only other station to listen to.
