92.1's Future?

Now that KMZT 1510 dumped oldies in favour of standards, could country end up there? Hurban there? If CC were to put country, then Wild could move to the weaker 92.1 and launch a country station on 94.9. Then one of the Infinity stations might go hurban. Maybe put the Live modern rock on 106.9, and launch a hurban on 105.3.

Pay attention to the rest of the discussions on the board. The new owners of 1510 are going to be simulcasting KPIG.

What have you been drinking??? 1. Mapleton owns KMZT 1510 the transfer was just
granted by the FCC this past month. 2. KMZT-1510 will simulcast KPIG. 3.Clear Channel will have nothing to do with 92.1 in Walnut Creek, CA. as the station has been sold to Coast Radio Company's "Contra Costa County Radio." This sale
was just granted by the FCC this past week. I believe it takes about a month to close on the sale generally speaking if I remember what David E said in another
post.

Some top notched talent will be gone, Carter B. Smith and Jim Lange. My family listened to KSFO from daybreak to almost sunset. What a shame! Nice going CC!!!!! :( :(

This one ain't CC's fault - Chase owned it and sold it to Coast

Chase owns it? You are a radio noob. :)

Chase and CC are basically one in the same...

NO YOU ARE THE NOOB

Chase is the license holder and sold it to COAST for $7 mil

CC had no intention of ending it's JSA with 92.1 and Chase at the present time.

Get your facts straight and dont make assumptions

Another poor misled soul

How many times are people going to say "everyone is going satellite" and have the explanation given before it sinks in?

Everyone is not going satellite. Relatively speaking, incredibly few are.

Rather than type it out again, here is a link to my response to that in a thread that started here but was moved to the National Coast to Coast board:

Yes, Chase is the license holder...But that's all they are...You go ahead and live your fantasy though...

You might want to check just where chase statioons operate and who they operate with...

It's called reading between the lines...

Wow. It sure seems like we rehash this one every week. Coast Radio is taking over 92.1 FM, and Jim Hampton is currently in the process of putting an air staff together for the station. It will probably become another of Coast's "Hometown" AC-formatted outlets.

We should all be bookmarking our posts so that we can cut-and-paste them again next week when someone suggests that Clear Channel put KMEL on 610 AM, move Air America to 92.1, slide Wild over to 93.3, switch 680 to CHurban, make 96.5 a country station and move sports-talk to 1550... then all CC will have to figure is what to do with Energy, Alice and MAX.

{Taking off patented Radio-Info.com Sarcasm Hat(tm). Next, please!}

If CC wanted to dump 92.1, they wouldnt have signed a 2 year lease on their Walnut Creek offices where they moved the station to.

Look I'm not here to support CC or bash them - I dont work for them so I could care less - I'm just reporting the facts not fantasy

92.1 wasn't the only reason they signed a 2 year lease...Plus, try to find anything in Walnut Creek that doesn't have a long lease on it...Plus, CC would have no problem throwing aside a 2 year lease on what is a relatively small office space...And CC has done many things that don't make sense...Even to them! :)

All I'm saying is the facts that everyone knows disguise the real facts underneath...No conspiracy theory or anything like it...Just radio biz...

And I'm not trying to bash anyone either, least of all you...
