92.3 in Jackson, circa 1990

For anyone who remembers, I have a question for you. Does anyone here remember when 92.3 in Jackson had transmitter issues back around 1990, when they operated on lower power there for a while? I lived about an hour away from Jackson at the time, and couldn't pick up WYNU except for whenever I was close enough to Jackson to tune them in. Anyway, I recall that 104.1 (which was WTNV at the time) offered 92.3 the use of their transmitter, but 92.3, for some reason, refused their offer. What I was curious about was why did 92.3 turn down the offer? I was unable to listen to 92.3 until they returned to full power.
