... for sure, a step in the right direction... I have noticed they add two songs in the last few days into their rotation, one is Ida Corr "Let Me Think About It" (which is a great Dance song), eventhough it's about a year or so old, it's still good to see it in a more regular rotation on a station other than Pulse 87, when they were on the air.

Another song they've added is a new song by a great UK artist La Roux "Bulletproof" (very dance/pop, but fresh sounding), it's been around for a few months in Europe but glad to see they are playing it here now in NYC. I have her album, it's great.

Lastly, I've noticed that the station changed it's website's look and is starting to change the sound of some of their station IDs (by giving snippets of songs to come in the upcoming hour of music) stuff like that... eh it's worth mentioning I think ...hopefully they'll keep on tweaking...

In a perfect world, you would have heard Bulletproof on WLIR for the past six months...

Tonight I heard Bulletproof and Sandstorm back to back on NOW.

Maybe they realize that there are a million dance listeners out there that sought out 87.7.

In a perfect world, you would have still had a WLIR! :)

At this point, let the recurrents and La Roux show up :) That's how the casual fans may open up to dance a bit more. Heck, a station like 92.3 NOW could play "Get Ready For This" (yes, 2Unlimited) or anything Cascada and that would work :)

Sandstorm...

Sandstorm...yeah, there's something to get excited about, a ten-year-old pseudo-trance song they play at Giants games.

Yawn. What's next, some Eiffel65?

If Eiffel 65 is going to "sell" dance to the casual fan somehow, and along the way have those fans naturally become more receptive to currents and gain "core" in the process, then all I can say is..

"I'm blue da ba dee da ba die....." :D

I believe those 2 tracks have had national airplay... our KIIS-FM in LA has played "Sandstorm" and has also played "Bulletproof" during Club DV8 (their Saturday night mixshow).

Seems like the 3 CBS Radio New York FM's (92.3 Now, CBS-FM, Fresh 102.7) have within the last week switched to a Word-Press Web Format; the 3 CBS Radio New York AM's are using an Intertech Media Web Format (pretty sure that's what they've been using for awhile).

They should've kept the old web format... CBS Radio is doing this to their stations now.

I'm sure you all know this, Eiffel 65 and Darude are a decade old and were big hits when they were released in the 90s. If they were to sell dance to the masses, they have already done so. Almost everyone in my age group recognizes those songs.

The big thing about this was that I heard a current dance song (Bulletproof) and an old dance song (Sandstorm) right next to each other on NOW. I also heard Taio Cruz - Break Your Heart in the same hour.
