When something that has been around as long as K-Rock, you are gonna get heat from somewhere in the former's listener base when it is gone. I've noticed what you're saying, but I wouldn't say it's "a lot". It's a few very vocal people. They are gonna be passionate, they are not going to listen to reason WHY it went away. All that matters to them is THEIR station is now gone, regardless why. I think over time you'll see less and less whining as people adjust.
I know someone will bring up the fact that there are groups of 4000 strong on Facebook trying to get K Rock back. Those people will look at that and say "Look at how many people you alienated!" Reality will look at that same number and say "K Rock's listenership sure was small, but they were dedicated". 4000 people in a area of what, 15 million? If there were 40,000 people that mattered(ie...live in the metro) in those groups, they might be able to make some noise.
But, 21st place/ 1.5 rating doesn't cut it anywhere.
What was funny to me is noticing how long it took some of those people to notice K rock was gone! Comments 2-3 days AFTER the switch saying "I just turned on my favorite station...britney...why?"
Yeah, there's passion and devotion, right?
