92.3 Now HD problem

nd2023

Banned
This morning when I was listening to 92.3 Now on my portable HD radio, the display said the call letters were " HD -FM", the artist was " HD -FM" and the title was "HD-1", and the audio was silent. No call letters, title, or artist, and dead air. I'm guessing the HD encoder wasn't encoding anything. The analog was fine, but when the signal was strong enough for HD, it muted. This is why I wish I had the feature to disable HD.

Just one of many reasons why "HD" stands for "HUGE DISASTER"!

What a waste of money.

That has to be the best name for HD I've heard yet!

At least of you're lucky you might be able to disable it on your radio of choice. A client picked up a DaySequerra modulation monitor. Between the two months they had it and the fact that they screwed it up I would never recommend any of their products to anybody. The point though, is they have a way to force analog reception on their systems. I wish more radios came with that feature.

As far as disabling the concept of HD I think the people turning it off are history in the making. Once markets like New York, Chicago and L.A. start turning it off I think it we'll start finding the hardware in your local dumpster.

Hey, let's bring back AM Stereo. At least it didn't buzz up the whole freakin' dial!
