92.3 Now's fall

NOW referred to themselves as the party station several times this week.
I don't hear an increase in EDM but they certainly seem to be billing themselves as rhythm friendly.. and with an increase in mix shows.
With some tweaking NOW is very well positioned to eat away at CC's Z and KTU.

NOW that's funny ;D

They need to stop dipping their toes in it and just go for it just like Hot 97 did in the 80's. They are probably not going to take down Z, but they will make KTU sweat a little.

If Pulse can pull in 1 MILLION listeners from a peashooter signal on a half @$$3d frequency, 92.3 going EDM will prob get 3x the listenership...KTU would definitely show a dent.

An article in InsideRadio indicates that CHR has recently been the country's fastest growing format. That may be an incentive for CBS Radio to avoid any major format changes to 92.3 Now. The station could be in the right format, and just need some tweaking.
With regard to EDM, AllAccess reports that KTFM in San Antonio TX is the latest rhythmic CHR to add a nightly EDM show. Such shows may make more sense than a full time electronic music format. Listeners may be much more receptive to an hour or so at night of EDM or other forms of dance music, rather than hearing it all day long.
