92.3 so much better than 94.1

I was in the North Jersey area last night and finally sampled 92.3 Free. I know people complain about them on other boards, but IMHO they are so much better than YSP. In the half hour I listened, I heard, Sabbath, Priest, Hole, Pearl Jam, Nirvanna, Motorhead and last but certainly not least Pantera. Lita Ford also showed up in the next hour. Its great to have a rock station give the female rockers some credit, I know YSP and MMR do not, YSP seems to be the male ego, sports jock, Eagles no women allowed type approach. Women are only meant for one thing, yeh-yeh-yeh!!!! The 92.3 jock was professional sounding, deep voice and right on the money. The station sounds great overall, I would think after their talk at 7PM they REALLY ROCK. Is this their overall daily format, or did I catch them at a good time.

They play that kind of Rock on nights and weekends. I agree, the Rock music is great. I wish it was full time. The DJ that you heard was Harris Allen. A great DJ. He used to be on the late WNEW. The station streams if you wanna check them out again.

Thanks for the mention of female rockers Scissors, Jett has new stuff but no Active Rockers play it. Lita, Jett/Blackhearts, Vixen, Plasmatics and many other female rockers should be played on Active formats, kudos to 92.3 Free FM for giving them some credit. Gotta put a word in to the dresses and suits.

Oh please you must be joking, 92.3 is a rock train-wreck. Everytime i listen it sickens me to think that at one time this used to rock with an active rock lean. Now its just a joke, I can't stand to listen to it for more than a min. :p YSP rocks the last time i was in the philly area I listened to that til i hit the DE/MD border. Great active Rock station with the alternative thrown in. Kudos to YSP for doing active rock RIGHT. As for 92.3 , will never listen again, even took them out of my preset.

Ever since 92.3 went "K-Rock: Great Rock Period", they have been unlistenable. I mean, if I wanted to hear Q 104.3, I would turn on Q 104.3. It's all the same old tired safest rock songs of the past 30 odd years played ad nauseum. WYSP is far more focused with their programming, and is at least different from its competition. Gender isn't the reason why acts like Lita Ford and Vixen are not played by many stations - they're not played for the same reason we seldom ever hear Poison and Warrant ... nobody wants to hear idiotic overproduced glam rock, regardless of who performs it.

I hear that 92.3 Free-FM is looking for a new PD. Not sure how much control they would have over the station's direction, but NYC sorely needs a station that focuses on hard rock and alternative acts of the '90s and today. Not over-the-hill dinosaur rock, not washed-up glam rock - there's other places where that can be heard. Combine bad music programming with awful talk programming (you know they're grabbing at straws when they decided to bring in the twice-fired Radio Chick), and it's no wonder why Free-FM is in the ratings cellar.

I dunno, from what I heard of 92.3 they sound professional and the music is great. How can anyone say YSP is on the money, I have to admit I have not listened to them in over a month, they were getting repulsive. The music is bland, after Kidd you have to put up with Ed who talks more than Barsky and its always about sex and Tanya, I am sick of it. Plus, they constantly yack about the Eagles and all the stuff WIP should be doing, they even have out of state football games on the weekends, they are the true train-wreck. The only saving grace at 5th and Market is Frank Lario. To Crusher, about 2 1/2 years ago there was this tune that B-98.5 played, before they went to G-Rock, it went something like this, "sometimes I feel like snowflakes melting on glass", with a weird melody, do you know it, cannot find it, hope I have the words correct. On another note, does anyone else have problems reading and posting, the text is always jumping up, this is with AOL, anyone else have this problem.

i live in levittown pa and i listen to 92.3 as well as 94.1, their both good, but nobody beats wmmr and the hawk
