92.3 Then?

nd2023

Banned
I've been hearing a lot more recurrents and golds on the so-called 92.3 Now. Many more than I hear on Z100.

Agreed. Possibly a move by new PD Rick Gillette; not sure if he's used the same methods at his previous stops (Phoenix, et al).

To my ears, 92.3 Now has been sounding less urban and more mainstream (ie. Z-100) in recent months.
Speaking of 92.3 Now, AllAccess is reporting they finally have a new morning personality to replace Nick Cannon. He is Ty Bentli, who was the afternoon host at Hot A/C KBIG in Los Angeles.
Bentli is scheduled to begin his show on July 5. In announcing this hire, PD Rick Gillette cited Bentli's "Herculean work ethic."

IMO if a station plays 15 songs in an hour and five songs in that hour are Hip-Hop or R and B songs and the other 10 are POP songs its still a POP station. Urban music now actually crosses over into non-minority audiences. Also Rick Gillette is regarded as a good programmer.

Probably asking too much lol but I do hope it soon goes in the direction like Hot 97.5 in Phoenix.
