92.5 The River

I couldn't get the usual station that I listen to last night and ended up landing on the River. I am amazed at the variety that this station has! I heard Stevie Wonder as well as the usual staples. I heard Mumford and Sons among others. This really only scratches the surface. I am glad to have such a station here!

The Big Problem is I don't have the station here in Rhode Island - Need The River or the old AAAWBOS Radio :::: or FreeForm WBCN ----> ( WZLX HD3 )

92.5 really is great. Plays classics like Echo & the Bunnymen, Michael Penn, Oasis, etc. And all the new stuff like Mumford, Michael Franti, Fitz & the Tantrums even some stuff like Phoenix, Neon Trees, Broken Bells Gorillaz, etc. They do share a lot of stuff with WFNX. They with FNX are my two favorite stations in the area

sorry for the wbos link Retro, I meant to post the link for WXRV but copies the wrong link and posted it, and when I figured out I posted the wrong link it was too late to modify the post

Not to threadjack, but did WXRV recently start sending out RDS song and title information? Until recently, I would just get "INDEPENDENT RADIO" (or something similar) on the stock radio in my Toyota.

Probably the most interestingly programmed station
around here. They did a thing, a while back - an
"undercover weekend" - bands you know doing cover
versions of other bands' songs. It was genius! Some
were good, some not so much - but was interesting
and compelling programming.

yeah FNX used to do that a lot.....in the 90's!!! Good for the River - Nice to see a station that appreciates its eclectic (sp?) library.

What the River does/did best, though, was on July 4th, when they'd play these really cool blues songs from the RHINO Records catalog and their own library the whole day. Perfect soundtrack to your holiday bbq. Back when no one cared about tsl and ppms........just good radio.......

Does Beau Raines do all of the liners on WXRV? Seems like you still hear his voice a lot on there since he left mornings a while back.
