92.5'S MOVE FROM ELGIN TO SUNSET VALLEY HAS BEEN APPROVED

EMF will probably throw out 92.1 / 91.9 / 106.3. Also, what will happen to KZOS-LP in San Marcos?

Remember 92.5 is still a class A. If 104.9 is any indication, it will still need the other EMF stations to reach the suburbs.

Yes, I mentioned that in the "Border Media Sell-off" thread, also noting that KWNX's change of COL from Taylor to Elgin was approved to replace the departing KVLR.

They will have to move to another frequency. In fact, if they've been following the situation they may have already found an alternate since they got plenty of lead time. The 92.5 application took a pretty long time to be approved.

Will KZOS-LP in San Marcos be able to locate another frequency to broadcast on? Maybe they
will just have to go off the air?

I believe the FCC now prohibits station moves that would silence low powers unless the low power either finds another frequency or goes dark voluntarily. I'm thinking the full-power station can also agree to accept interference from a low power in a situation like this one, but don't hold me to that.

I would think they would at least keep 106.3 on K-Love since it makes it about to San antonio, then listeners can tune over to 91.3 in SA.
