92.7 A Look.

Live & local staff cost money, and it's doubtful this station can afford any staff.

As a 27 watt LPFM, I doubt they can afford much of anything beyond setting up an effective automation system. I wonder what the market is for a limited coverage station that has to get funding in the non-commercial manner with underwriting.

I have run a PT 15 myself and I have ran an internet station. Not complaining as I said earlier. Just observing. I'm well aware 92.7 is a nonprofet station and their library is limited. More than likely, a computer just plays the songs. I would imagine they use something like station playlist manager so repeats are bound to happen. I did not want to seem like I was criticizing or anything.

Well 92.7 is the same format as 99.7 and 99.9. Something about omega network or something...... How many stations are they gonna by?????? It's like reach fm #2. Plus their audio is so up and down... This is why I have apple music and tunein premium........

Exactly Austin! Quality control, like many of the other principles of great radio are sneered at by today's "broadcast professional"!

It's illegal to own or control more than one LPFM station. That's not to say that stations can't share programming, but having multiple stations in the market share a common format sounds like a violation.

I've also tuned into 92.7 on a couple of occasions and have noticed that their signal can be heard much further away than a typical LPFM station. In once case, I carried the signal almost to the main toll gate on the northbound Turnpike, a distance of 20-30 miles.

Something fishy there...

I agree one entity shouldn't own or control more than one LPFM station. That's not what the service was created for. However, I don't think there's a rule about simulcasting as long as the contours do not overlap. I believe even different family members can own stations as long as they are spaced more than 7 aerial miles from each other.

I live a little over 8 miles away from their site, and can barely pick 92.7 up. Same issue in both my vehicles.

My main gripe with LPFM are the ones that file for license and never build. There's one I know of that filed for license in 2006, and has never been on the air. I drove by their "site" one day and there is no sign of a 100 foot tower anywhere. Just an old dilapidated mobile home with a bunch of junk in the yard. I see that a lot of it in my travels around the state.
