92.7 and 106.1 Cleveland

I was on the innerbelt near Downtown Cleveland and got to hear Air 1 coming in very well on 92.7. No interference and no DXing at all. Looks like that station is now up and running (or it could be a test).

I got to hear 106.1 come in with the WGAR simulcast. It was more static and kept coming in and out, but was able to get it well in parts of the city of Cleveland.

Nothing on 103.7, but who knows what that frequency.

Looks like 106.1 could be broadcasting something real soon as 92.7 is now on the air.

If you listen to Air1, you’ll notice the new station ID at the top of every hour… it mentions only 102.5 in Akron, 92.7 in Cleveland, and WKDD-HD2 (no mention of 103.7 as was stated a few weeks ago in their ID).

No interference issues with WVNO/Mansfield on 106.1? I've heard them in Cleveland before with a pretty good signal. Then of course there's WBBG/Niles on the channel that comes in not far east of Cleveland.

I couldn't tell if WVNO or WBBG was interfering with 106.1 of Cleveland. If CC does launch a station there, they're gonna have to make sure the coverage sounds good enough for broadcast like 99X.

I guess either 106.1 will replace 103.7, it'll just be 92.7 in Cleveland or 103.7 gets fixed and ends up broadcasting Air 1 after all.
