He is absolutely his own worst enemy indeed. He holds the keys to being done with this dispute in his very hands and total Control! Ed pay your obligations to your creditors already!!!! Quit being so obviously stupid about this dispute there's no free lunch!

Ed pay your obligations to your creditors already!!!!

He already has. Read this:

Stolz tells the Ninth Circuit that the receivership should have been terminated nearly a year ago. He says he paid the $1.3 million owed to the music companies last November, then paid an additional $384,150 in February, followed by a $103,358 payment in May, which Stolz says satisfies all judgements against him.

What other creditors are owed money?

At least he was running entertainment formats, unlike the propaganda VCY would spew. There may be no winners here but I hope Ed prevails and then sells to a better operator.
So people who want a faith-based format are less deserving?

Keep in mind that in some markets, there are such formats in the top 5 stations! You and I may never listen to one, but they are quite popular.

It's the sort of "evangelical" organization that uses faith as a cover to spread hate and disinformation. A quick look at the VCY website is all you need to find their anti-LGBTQ rhetoric, "Critical Race Theory" garbage, a climate change denial piece falsely proclaiming the "myth" of settled science, and so much more.

So no, I don't welcome trash like that. It's not mass entertainment, it's mass indoctrination and a megaphone for far-right propaganda . No thanks, I still choose the guy playing the hits. People may not like his business practices but at least he's not spreading lies and harming society.

Stoltz’ Talk stations such as KBET in Las Vegas runs or ran Michael Savage, and Alex Jones, among others so they are probably not that much different politically. Right of center. One has been operating since 1961 in a professional manner. The other one has not.

Reading through these recent comments, I don't think most of you have ever listened to VCY. VCY is nothing like Michael Savage Weiner or Alex Jones! Not even close. I am not trying to be disrespectful, but the the comparison is completely absurd... to the point of hilarity.

VCY might not be your cup of tea, but it isn't some intentionally rabble-rousing operation either. If you doubt me, go listen to it for a day or longer.

Respectfully disagreeing. Just looked at the news page for their flagship talk show "Crosstalk." First story was "World Domination Agenda" captioned "for over 30 years our guest has been sounding the alarm about the dangers of "Agenda 21."

Other articles are anti vax and about the "dangers" of the COP26 environmental summit and calling the January 6th insurrectionists "political prisoners." They're playing to a certain conspiratorially minded subculture within their faith, at least in their talk content and online "news" service. Some of the exact same ground tread by Savage and Jones among many others.

Crosstalk has always been like that. For decades. That said it’s easy to avoid if you don’t like it. It runs less than an hour. It doesn’t dominate the entire station. It’s been around since the 70s.

Rest of their other programming is preaching, old dramas from Moody Bible Institute and old instrumental music and hymns dating back to the 50s and 60s. The audience is usually older. If their Church is strict and traditional (Nothing contemporary) then VCY is likely of interest.

I’m from their flagship station’s coverage area. For a long time it was really the only Christian station on FM except for Family Radio. The only Contemporary Christian music in this area was on AM until 2001. A lot of older and stricter Christians would listen to WVCY. Many of them grew up with it. They started by leasing time on FM in the 1960s when nobody was listening to much FM. The flagship was one of them. The station was used for it’s subcarrier so they could sell Muzak to businesses. Owner needed programming for the main signal so they leased it to VCY (Milwaukee Youth for Christ) until they sold the station to them in the early 70s.

The TV repack allowed them to sell their TV frequency in Milwaukee for some 70 Million or so a few years back. Some of that money seems like it’s been going toward expanding the network, particularly out west. Therefore these stations fit what they have been doing.

I don’t believe it’s something that would be well received to the masses in a city like San Francisco, but given Family Radio’s origins there, I can see it being an option for those who might not like what is currently on Family Radio or prefer FM. K-LOVE also has origins in that area, particularly one of their first translators in San Rafael, so there must be some kind of desire for it.

I agree...it's a more sedate version. They don't yell at you. But the message is from the same side.

They definitely are into advocacy preaching. They have a political point of view. But it's based in their ministry.

As of this moment, there is no court filing that backs up the allegations made in that article. The blog post in question states that the order was made on January 31. The only order that was made on that date was an order on the 31st for the next Status Hearing to take place on March 3.

and if this news article were true, radioinsight, allaccess, insideradio and RTVBR would be all over this
