92.7 Rev

There definitely was a construction permit for KREV at Sutro Tower, when it was known as KNGY at 380 ft AGL with 500 watts ERP. It looks like Stolz nixed that when he acquired the station, in favor of its current location near Candlestick Point.
Now I remember where I saw this: Wilkipedia. If 92.7 never broadcast from Sutro Tower, someone needs to revise their history tab. Because Wikipedia states they were transmitting from Sutro, but South Bay listeners were getting interference from KTOM -- while some North Bay listeners had interference from the 92.7 in Sonora.

If they never moved to Sutro, to misquote Mark Twain, those reports of interference were greatly exaggerated 🤣

They did operate on Sutro for a shot time under the CP, but they never filed for a license to cover under Flying Bear and went back to their licensed facility. They were concerned about the lack of building penetration in The City from what I had heard.

I've never met either one, dont know what either looks like.. couldnt pick them out in a crowd.. but based solely on industry behavior, Patrick is the more normal human I'd prefer to associate with.

Neither have I, and my apologies for ruffling feathers which I assume was the case since my post was removed. I don't know either of those guys other than what I've read here and I shouldn't have posted something that sounded so judgmental.

I've followed this thread since the beginning and it looks to me like Larry Patrick keeps maneuvering to seize control even after the judge returned the property to the guy who owns it. To me it's not right to take what's not yours and it looks to me like it's probably time for the guy who was *formerly* appointed as receiver to stand down. That's what I should have said.

I have alot moee respect for Larry Patrick whos owned stations himself (and still does) and been a broker.. both for longer and is a ore productive member of society and broadcasting and the communities his radio stations are in then Stolz could ever attempt to be.
I agree. I have had dealing with Patrick and found him to be a "square dealer" and a perfect candidate for a court ordered receivership. Never did I hear anything negative about his dealings or his character.

Agreed.

You'll note that former Stoltz employees have not banded together to defend him and his character.

Point taken and accepted. You might want to discuss each person with their employees, past and present.

Patrick was appointed by one judge, and then Stoltz found a legal maneuver to change that judge's appointment. Patrick is due what he earned, and has the right to question Stoltz' latest moves, based on several legal positions.

Stoltz has been ultra-litigious for his whole professional life. He probably has sued over his electric bill, a mis-charge at the supermarket or an automatically extended magazine subscription.

He did sue his homeowner’s insurance about a decade ago for not covering damages with a whole bunch of additional twists. He also sued (I do believe) KSFM in Sac for defamation in the 90’s. Never saw the outcome on those cases, but I doubt it was in his favor. Easily accessible on the net.

It is odd that nobody really comes to bat for Stolz…makes you wonder what kinda guy he’s like in person or as an employer. Also makes you think he’d have a decent amount of additional money lying around if he didn’t have to pay for frivolous legal fees

When you hire an attorney to sue your former attorney while you're still in litigation, speaks volumes. Crazy Ed 101.

If you were an ex-employee who had bad experience with the employer and you knew that the employer would not let any opportunity to sue pass him by... would you make public comments about that person that were not flattering?

So, is Robb Austin of JamTraxx, the latest to be screwed over by Ed? His deal to air his Pure FM seems to be on hold. Supposedly it was just a matter of firing up the KREV transmitter to get it back on the air when the deal was made almost a month ago. Did Ed neglect to tell him about the unpaid electric bill when Robb made a deal with the devil? The delinquent bill must be pretty big since it has yet to be paid. That's not something you forget about. I wonder how Robb is feeling about doing business with Crazy Ed.

A small FM transmitter does not run up a large electric bill. Just guessing, but the transmitter likely costs less to run than a medium sized home's central AC unit.

As usual, there is probably more going on here than what's been revealed in that latest article. I'm not counting on the truth from Ed regarding this particular deal. It's a no comment from Robb Austin.

Subterfuge and litigation are all part of dealing with Crazy Ed. Mr Austin would be well advised to get his money up front.

Yep, considering Ed doesn't have the cash to pay his P,G,&E bill ..well, allegedly he can't...hmmmm
The power bill for a low power FM is not going to be a huge amount. It is likely, though, that if it is unpaid there are lots of other due bills.

Like the tower rental for KREV...about $400k in arrears. Or speak to former Receiver, Larry Patrick. He cleaned up a lot of Crazy Ed's mismanagement and got some revenue flowing to the stations via an LMA with VCY. He's owed over $1m, but Crazy Ed has no intention of paying him in his reorganization filing. Good luck to the BK judge...this is an extra large can of worms.

Ed and his ilk (yeah there are others like him) are one more reason I'm glad I retired from radio.

Insanity in radio seems to be common among sole proprietorships.
