92.9 and 106.7

I generally agree with Roddy (as I usually do) and thought this might be good to bring up...While I think WYAY will grow in the ratings (to at least a two), I think for Cumulus it's more about the money they have the potential to gain. And it's a lot. It's not like the station employs *that* many people.

I agree...and Cumulus might be able to use it as a nucleus for a news operation in other markets.

Except for corporate headquarters in Atlanta, why would Cumulus build a redundant news gathering / reading facility. They have the ABC radio operation which most likely they will keep in NYC because of the Disney ABC/TV News operations which feeds most of the international / national stories for ABC Radio is still there. Cumulus also has the old satelite music facility in Dallas which feeds a bunch of stations. Dallas is the largest market without a major CWA AFTRA workforce thus cheaper talent than NYC and a large potential pool of talent is available there verses Atlanta. If you are going to farm out "local" newscasts, it can be done from anywhere. Atlanta would have no advantage in getting a story from, Birmingham, Chattanooga, or Knoxville verses Dallas or NYC.

Thanks again. I think I should hire you as my publicist.

Funny Roddy, do appreciate your unbiased insights into the various articles you write, obvious you're connected with the market and know of what you speak.
Do agree with others who don't see Cumulus keeping all news in ATL for the purpose of providing news to their other major market stations. Most do have ABC News for that and 106 7 is their only All News property. Their big NT stations are suffering in LA, SF, CHI etc and their attempts as an example to turn KGO into more of a competitor with KCBS has been a miserable failure.
Also think while both all news and 92 9 are struggling, CBS has a better chance of surviving long term although they have a long way to go.
