92.9 In Knightdale

ok, been picking up this signal for a while now...assuming its a pirate...signal seems to be strongest around the smithfield road exit on the new 64/264 bypass, only advertises as "dance radio" playing only house dance and techno music.....I've heard the signal as far as lake wheeler one time, but lately only covers nightdale with good strength, but can sometimes hear it in North Raleigh...
station sounds fully modulated with great stereo seperation..whoever running this knows their stuff, and it would be nice if it was legal..waiting for KZL on saturday nights aint very fun...

any clues?

I remember having a similar topic on this station about a year ago; though I don't think the coverage was good. They sound extremely good, though.

Keep us updated on what you hear.

I had a chance to listen on the way to my parents house from Raleigh. It sounded very professional for a pirate. How long as it been on?

I heard it back in the early spring.
There ain't no dance clubs in Knightdale I could find that would be using it for a house station. I never heard anyone's voice but the singers until about a month ago, a guy said something about "the dance station" between songs, but that was it.

It DOES sound pretty good, technical-wise.

I did some signal hunting around that area, couldn't find any obvious traces but I'm sure its coming from the subdivision around that area, oh well...I burned a bit of gas traveling from north raleigh and cracked my radiator in the car, ooh, I made a lot of progress that afternoon

It seems to be usually on more in the afternoons up to about 10 on weekdays or midnight on the weekends, than it is on in the daytime.

They are still running the station, at least on Friday afternoons. I heard it all the way to Capital Boulevard from Knightdale on a couple of days.
Nearest I can tell, they are playing the feed from thedancestation.com, that's the only identifier someone kicked in with every couple songs.

It's got 6 or 7 miles of good range. If they played more than dance music, they might get up a following. ;)

But then they'd get a following from the FCC, prolly.
