92.9/WZLA Oldies in Greenwood

Looks like the oldies station in Greenwood has finally put forth some effort to improve the quality of their station. Much tighter and they seem to be letting the satellite run most of the time. Sounds like Westwood One's old 'greatest hits' format, whoever is running it now I don't know. The satellite feed is nice, I think they were running ABC's "Oldies Radio" (now known as "Classic Hits", I believe).

Thank heavens this station is getting some long due improvements!

Not that I'm in the area, but to clarify the terminology, is this something different from J.J. McKay's satellite format (which I can hear but don't want to)?

No, this isn't Jones' format. It's currently the one that Westwood One used to offer...it's the one with Ric Santos, Robert M. Chenault, etc.

Is that the same service Jim Zippo, Maria Danza, Rob Foster and others were on? Same one used in the mid 90s on the '103s' in the upstate???
