92.9 Z93 Heard in Delhi (Cincinnati)

I have Never really got Z93 comming in listenable or at all. This is the best I have ever got it since I decided to hook up a coaxal cable to my stereo from my outdoor antena I use inside because I live in a condo. I can actually listen to just as if i was in Dayton with not static. I cant even get it on my Walkman which I would love to do. I think it sounds Better then Q102 or Kiss with what they are playing. I find it funny on the promos they use the guy that does the station id's for Clear Channel on a Radio One statiion lol.
 
Not surprising really since announcers who voice promos and liners work for agencies (and a few who set up their own agencies). Probably the same one who does the liners for Hot 102.9
 
I live south of Indianapolis & with the simple twist of an outdoor FM yagi, Dayton or Lexington comes in on 92.9. If you don't already have an outdoor antenna, you could add greatly to your list of receivable FM stations. The APS-9 is a great starter antenna with the APS-13 for those who desire the best.

If it's Radio Shack's $20 yagi, it does a fair job for the money. If you can regularly hear anything greater than 90 air miles away, it's in the acceptably useful range. My APS 13 used to pick up WSGS 101.1 Hazard,KY all the time...until 100.9 in Cincy moved to 101.1. It also heard 96.3 from near Nashville,TN until not one but TWO 96.3's signed on about 10 years ago & I am halfway between them. Another shot channel...
 
Mine cost me $30 bucks I plan on buying the exclusive $60 amplified signal booter they have on Radio Shacks site eventual and i will probly be abable to pick up alot more stations that are farther away with it.
 
Keep your receipt...in Cincinnati, with lots of local signals, the amp will probably overload & you'll find WEBN at 12 places on the dial. I grew up in College Hill & when I left 30 years ago, I couldn't use an FM preamp. With the power upgrades that have occurred since 1977, I must think it would be worse today.
 
I dont think i will have that problem with my Sony STD-DE135 Reciver.I know if I was able to put my annenta outside I would get better signals and father away ones. Does the type of coaxial cable matter I have the push in style right now for my 75ohms coaxial cable. Would a screw on type work better and also does it matter if its gold plated or not?
 
Coax is preferred in high signal areas & it doesn't make any difference if it's gold plated or not...except to Radio Shack's bottom line. Twin Lead has lower loss & may be a better choice waaaaaay out in the boonies, but not in Cincy. Getting the antenna outdoors above the roof line & having a rotor on it opens the door to much better reception.
 
I live in a condo so no go with it outside. I might ask if they would let me put it in the attic amd drill a whole through the ceiling so i can run the cable to my stereo.
 
I've seen that done with varying results, but it's almost always better than being indoors.
 
As many of said on here before...Dayton stations are just as good (if not better) in many cases.

K-99 is the best sounding country station in the area, hands-down.
