92 pro fm

just wondering if this station still runs live concidering the same jock (j-buff) has been doing overnights 12-5am/afternoon drive and evenings this whole week so far.... kinda funny if ya think about it.... theres noone else to take on any shifts over there? and i just noticed ashley taylor is off the website so i guess she has left

This is sad. If they have the same jock pulling 3 out of 5 shifts (obviously voicetracking at least one of them), it looks incredibly bad for one of the more influential top 40 stations in a medium-sized market. Now would be the best time to bring somebody up from Fun 107 or Q105 in New London.

Ashley came from Fun 107 and I hate to say it but it never should have happened.I don't know what happened to her and hadn't heard her in a while but she was on a medium market station prematurely. And I don't believe PRO-FM has shown any interest in anyone at Fun 107 in the past. You would think they would look at Fun 107 as sort of a farm team but it doesn't seem to be the case although the Fairhaven bunch doesn't seem to want to move. The ones who would be able to make a move anyway.

was just listining on my way home from work and noticed davy morris is back today..... ill have to take a listen later to see if the kid is gonna cover for kerry tonight as well as the overnight..... sence i guess ashley left i think j-buff would be a good fit for that shift sence i dont think its done live anymore...... i dunno but you guys are right its extremly sad to see just what that station has become.... i grew up listining to great djs that have sence left that place for better jobs.... and i dont think the PD over there can do a much better job.... i really dont think its all the budgets fault... anyone elses thoughts?

Ashley left PRO-FM on her own first off...and I hear from some people that someone from FUN 107 will becoming to PRO within the upcoming months -- who is it? Let the speculation begin.

I fully understand that PRO-FM has all this heritage, but I think some changes need to take place. Perhaps they're trying to protect Hot 106 by not having too "hot" of a playlist, but in Boston, Jam'n 94.5 and Kiss 108 can co-exist with the same owner and both get good numbers. And Kiss 108 is a pretty straight-forward top 40, while PRO-FM skews toward a more adult top 40 route. PRO-FM needs a good shuffle up.

And on the Fun 107 thing, perhaps there's something that's keeping a lot of Fun 107-ers from moving to the bigger market. Hmmm...

If it's Scott Medeiros they'd better keep that kid voicetracked and on overnight. He is definitely an acquired taste and I won't go any further than that. I'm beginning to think PRO-FM is just taking advantage of the fact that some people can't stand not being on the radio.

I'm not sure if its Scott Medeiros or not, but what would make you think him out of all people? Here's all the FUN 107 weekenders:

-Ray Anthony
-Scott Reiniche
-Erica Kay
-Dee Dee Moniz
-Scott Medeiros
-Ron Medeiros
-J Rod

Ron Medeiros formerly is of WPRO-FM, may he be coming back? Hmm I wonder.

i had read somewhere of a rumer about him comming to pro... i dont know him and never heard him on air.... and i doubt it would be ron sence he was already there...... speakin of ron... does anyone know why he left in the first place... weather it was his choice or he was let go?

That Ashley girl sounds like she's freakin' 12 years old anyway. No big loss.

ahhh..that's why I love reading these threads..people slamming people who don't even work on-air..it's beautiful...new england at its' best :D

my intent w/ this thread was/is in no way an attempt to slam anyone as i have not.... like i said i dont know any of them the reason for the thread was to have a decent conversation over the observation i made w/ pro during the beginning of the week... w/ one jock covering 3 shifts in the same day... to me it sounds cheap for a station to do that...i think theres alot of good talent between both stations and remember if the jocks are young they have to start somewhere to i just think pro needs a few more... again i didnt start this thread in an attempt to slam anyone

speaking of jocks young having to start somwhere - who is this jeff the dit kid who i hear on in the morning on pro-fm with gio & kim sometimes and i hear him all the time on air with jay buff and kerry colins?

he sounds young and i've seen him on all their myspaces too. does anyone know the scoop on this kid?

You can ask him right here..he has posts on this thread ( gtdradio )

DIT---You got someone to post about ya! way to go!

Yes I'm envisioning it right now. A future radio society where instead of resumes & airchecks you send the PD a list of spaces you're on & how many jocks say your name on the air.

wow,,that was a genius statement...yaaay..way to encourage a young person that loves radio and wants to get into the field....such an optimistic outlook for the future! glad that some of us in radio encourage DIT to follow his passion..this is a young man that is smart enough to know that networking at an early age will help him in the future...he not only calls me, but also Shawn Tempesta, Kerry Collins, Davey Morris, Ron Medeiros...you should be ashamed of yourself Jockitch for bashing the young, bright future of this kid

Oh wow, can't believe someone would mention me. I'd call myself an upcoming disc jockey? haha. Ummm , thank you newenglandradio for actucally caring about me in this radio world. lol.

But I'm fifteen, and can't wait to be on radio - and always am up for tips. ([email protected])

But yeah...anyhow - back to 92 PRO-FM.

haha.
