When 102.7 was stunting CHR in 2003 before Blink, they registered 10 domains with "1027" in them and various station names in order to throw us and their competitors off.

Well this makes since to the executives. Because as you know, everything that works in LA must work in NYC, right?

<cough> jack fm, <cough> free fm... Let's give it another try.

Well, let's turn that point around on its head: just because some formats have succeeded in LA but failed in NY (though Free FM was hardly a rousing success there either), that doesn't mean that all formats that have succeeded in LA will fail in NY, and especially a format like a CHR with potentially very wide appeal.

The last time I was in Black Rock the top 3 floors were essentially all lawyers, which tells you something about the Company. If you think that CBS wanted to use 923amp.com and did not have it locked down long before any public announcement was made about LA, you are sadly mistaken. One thing CBS has taken more serious than their Radio Programming has been intellectual rights management.

Yes, in all fairness, ampradio.com was registered in mid-January. Although I believe the station started out as an HD-2 side channel first...

Yes ampradio.com used to bring you to 93.1 KCBS-HD2 which was the home of "Amp Radio" before the move over to 97.1 KLSX.
