So i was in town and listened to both. From what I see 929 and 937 are different in mnay ways. 937 will play more modern/hot AC music (music that you can hear on 94.9 the Point and 2WD) but seems like 929 will go more AC/oldies (like 2WD, and nothing like 949)
Examples:
On 937 you can hear the Killers, Papa Roach "Scars", Switchfoot "meant to Live" etc...but I do not think that 929 will play these type of songs
For me (21 yrs old)...BOB FM is the better station over 929 the Wave. I also enjoy the Point and 2WD over 929 the Wave. The Wave plays more older music, thus I think going after a little older auidence than 937, 949, or 2WD. We shall see what happens in a market that has way too many AC type stations. The question is can they all hold their own or will one of the 4 now go away?
(actually there is 5, Lite 921/1077, but that is one is so low no cares about it....maybe even more if u can count Mix 967 and Beach 104 on the southside as well as Xtra 991 on the penisula)
My choice for AC in Hampton Roads still stands w/ BOB FM, the Point and 2WD
(now if Richmond can get at least one of those three to fill up our AC hole)
