I say they just throw in the white flag, if they havent already...
Here's why... The dj's they have clearly are not cut out for a true CHR format or anything close to what Wild has or targets. Bob and Sheri on a CHR.. are you kidding me? They should get a good consultant, reformat, reimage and rename the station and make it a true Hot AC and stick with that. Get a new station voice, new jingles, and target Mix 103.3's demo more than Wild... I would love to see like a Mix 107.7 or Mix 106.5 type station in Lima (obviously with a different name).. they have a better chance of winning the rateings battle and gaining some gound back in the Lima market this way...
or what do you think of a "Jack FM" type format in Lima?
I know Maverick own's WDOH now and is trying to pull off a soft AC station.. well, flip that to an FM talk.. it's basically High school sports most of the time anyway... and then take on Mix with 92zoo... only with a different format and different name.
I believe the 92zoo name has had it's run of course and is dying out. Everyone in Limaland knows what 92zoo is.. know matter what they try to do format wise, I doubt they will ever see much improvement.. people have a sterotype of what 92zoo is and to change that, you need to take it out and start something new... it will come across to most of the public as a totally new radio station..
I do have to admitt.. it is a shame, I grew up listening to 92 zoo when they were "Lima's Power Hits" back in the mid 90's.. i loved the station.. It was AWESOME back then, but all good things have to come to an end and business is business.. you have to do what you can to survive.
thats my 2 1/2 cents...
