93.1 Coosada

I don't know if the calls are screaming out "The Gump" but you might be on to something.

Anyway, here's more info on this new station: http://www.fccinfo.com/CMDProEngine.php?sCurrentService=FM&tabSearchType=Appl&sAppIDNumber=1432521

According to that link, the tower will be located in Prattville.

If I remember it correctly, the location will be at and/or near the place where WXFX was once located.

Hope you're right acesup and this station does go the Alternative Rock route.

P.S. Unless that prediction is right, I'm still sticking with Spanish and/or a LMA with Stroh's River Branding for my format picks.

Well, if that doesn't scream "104.9 The Gump to a full-market signal!", I don't know what does.

Certainly sounds like a no brainer to me! WGMP will be the new home for The Gump. I'd bet money on it.

What about this? If The Gump moves to 93.1 they won't need 1170am to simulcast anymore. What's to happen to this station? Any predictions on a format change for them? Maybe an LMA with Stroh for a trimulcast with 1170/97.5/104.9 branded at 104.9 & 97.5 The River? They could change the calls of WACV to WVRV and have WVRV-AM/FM. 104.9 would certainly be better fm metro coverage for them than 101.5 is.

Overradioed? Up until recently there was only one choice for CHR, AC, Rock, sports, news-talk, etc. Now there is an Alternative Rock station, a Soft AC and various other format choices. Program diversity is a good thing - up to a point.

My thoughts exactly Mr. Gower and Charles1.

P.S. 104.9 FM The Gump was coming in like a local today here in Selma.  The music still rocks.  Keep up the good work.
