93.1 is now Soft 93.1 Listen at Work...(Stunt 3 ?)

Here's a liner they could use.

If you can't recieve Soft 93.1 at your state job downtown because our transmitter is on a mountain over 45 miles away and our signal can't penetrate any concrete buildings...Listen on line or try Mix 96.
 
That is True, I brought in my GE SuperRadio and put it in the window of my office and still no 93.1, 92.1 comes in ::) there both on the same tower ;D

BTW that Gigaware HD/Ipod-Iphone Radio on sale this month at RS is a nice unit, its also hooked up
to an amplified antenna and no 93.1 but stations sound great in HD - Woo-Hoo
 
CC still has other websites so they can stunt in the next few days like groove931, 931feelit, classic931, etc.
 
"Stunting" officially makes Clear Channel the worst radio group in America, not that we didn't already know that. I can just see the CC executives sitting around the conference table: "...okay boys, let's really screw with the competition...we'll stunt! We'll do a different format every day! That'll f@#k with 'em! They won't know what hit 'em! God damn we're brilliant!"

No, just major-league ****** bags with a minor-league mentality. Who cares? Go ahead and stunt away you jack-asses. It doesn't matter what you do, whatever it is I'm sure you'll do the typical Clear Channel job of making it suck as bad as possible. No one's going to react to the stunting on a programming level because NOBODY cares (except for maybe a few sales people). And like it says above, your signal is weak. You'll always be hindered with a signal issue. Listeners get fatigued by poor reception.
 
They need to increase 93.1's volume levels. With a rimshot signal, they at least need to sound like a local full market FM to have a chance. If I switch thru my presets, I have to turn up the vol for 93.1 to match the other locals. Even 92.1 sounds louder. CC should be making adjustments to the processing to get the best sound out of that signal while doing this stunting. Right now they sound like my ipod fm transmitter!

In this economy, why even waste time with stunting? Get your permanant format on and begin establishing the station/brand. Especially with a new frequency...99% of listeners currently don't even know this signals exists!!
 
just drove up 50 from downtown to hazel. the signal is iffy on my car radio.

it's not even a volume issue. the stick isn't going to cut it for an "at work" type format (AC, Hot AC, etc)

wtf is clear channel thinking wasting time on "stunting". there's literally NO media buzz on this new signal, are they going to stunt until the bee reads their press release or are they just waiting for their texas offices to make a decision on their format?
 
A post on another thread mentioned that a launch party was scheduled for this afternoon or evening. Let's hope they aren't stupid enough to envite buyers, local luminaries, etc to a party, then not disclose what the format will be....If they do have a party scheduled today, it is probably to kick off the new format. 10 years ago, here in LA, CC held a luanch party at the Skybar to kick off Mega 100 during the party....They needed to build up the promotional hype as much as possible because while the target concept was good, it sounded terrible and the format flopped everywhere it was tried.

After listening to the Format Du Jour, here's my guess moving forward: Some type of urban-leaning format. Why? 1) Check out the signal strength in the southern parts of the county. 2) They can team up with V101 and My 92 to target females.
 
I have had no problem receiving the new signal. When going south on highway 99 south of Lodi it starts to fade. The new 92.9 signal is weak until I got south of Stockton and then it comes in great and covers the Modesto market quite nicely. Can a booster be placed on the downtown tower by The Sacramento Bee building to improve the signal in the downtown area?

KKLZ is owned by Beasly, so I doubt it. Besides, CC must have some agreement with Results to be sharing tower space with KCCL 92.1. It would be pretty sleazy to use the same tower location to go head to head with them.

Just a couple of thoughts:
1. What has CC ever not operated in a sleazy manner?

2. Does Results own the tower? If Results doesn't own the tower, but they and CC are sharing tower space from a 3rd party, who is to say it is "sleazy".
