93.1 radio now morning mess

There's already rumors of a lawsuit stemming from this...if Emmis thought they had any hope of getting the Colts back from Clear Channel, that went down the crapper this morning.

Good work, Marco and co....

Between this and the crack hostage negotiators at WIBC, I don't know which is worse.

What's so bad about a morning show trying its best to get ink in the local paper and succeeding?? Who got hurt from this prank? Nobody! What is the big deal?

It's politically correct, tight-assed dullards like you that are sucking the life right out of radio. Nobody wants to take chances on the air anymore and, when they do, they get reemed for it. It sucks...No wonder people are going to satellite.

Ugh. This business is becoming so friggin' lame. It's sad...Everybody is so scared of anything remotely offensive.

The Colts are just a bunch of me-me-me (BLEEP). Shame on them.

I personally have no problem with them wanting to a pull cheap stunt-it's their money, let the cards fall where they may. But, I think Emmis isn't going to be too happy when the Colts not only sue them, but pull all their advertising, etc, etc from one of the stations that is part of their HQ flagship.

This is the age of litigation. Deal with it.

That's the problem. It's the age of litigation and Political Correctiveness. The people in Indy are obviously pansy-ass (BLEEP) who can't take a joke. I remember when PD's (one of mine to be exact) use to offer a paid day off to a jock if they got the station's name in local media - INCLUDING THE COMPETING RADIO STATION! That was the spirit... make noise, have fun, get coverage...

Time to put the Politically Correct pansies of Indianpolis on the front line in Iraq... Spare the good military people's lives for a better cause while getting rid of idiots who make the world a boring place filled with litigation and crying (like babies).

I REALLY hope the Colts go away now - I'd love to see how Indy reacts -

Thanks, Indy, for entertaining those of us half way across the country - and to the Morning Mess... keep bringing radio content... it needs it.

Hun, if you think the Morning Mess is creating radical new content for Indy, another station beat 'em to it months ago. On the AM dial.

I dont know about you but I am so friggin' sick of radio stations being afraid of advertisers and what they MIGHT pull their accounts over. "MIGHT" is the operative word. The Emmis sales folk should point out to the Colts people that it was FREE ADVERTISING! It got their crummy team's name in the papers, on tv and in the radio. Arent sports teams supposed to be...uh...sporty?? And fun? If anything the Colts should fire THEIR PR person for making such a stink about this.

Dim witted idiots...UGH! I hate 'fraidy cat radio people and pontificating advertisers that think they know how to program good radio.

I'm assuming you're referring to Abdul (who I used to work with, btw..)..

Regardless, I thought the Morning Mess' prank was funny as hell... Would I have done it myself? Eh, probably not, but that's just me.

I wouldn't exactly call the Colts crummy, but that's neither here nor there. And, really, that point is kind of moot anyway because the Colts aren't on an Emmis station-they're CC.

I am apt to agree. But, to a certain extent, advertisers do control the fate of any station. How much revenue can make or break a station, regardless of their arbitron numbers. This is, sadly, a world which regards the almighty dollar higher than what goes out on those airwaves. The dollar usually comes first. While I don't like that or agree with it, it seems to be the way of things.

Why not? If you thought it was funny, what's the problem?

I dont' remember saying "radical new content" - I was just giving them props for actually DOING content on the radio, unlike most corporate messes (lol) which is liners, ads, music and somehow those corp. idiots think you can't do content in there as well... HUN!

Doing content in liners, ads, music, etc is actually something the Morning Mess' competition excels at...Smiley has made an entire career out of it, from what I've listened to on his show.

Fine, no one said you were wrong. I'm not in Indy (hence my reference to "half way across the country") - I'm just giving them props for providing content. If other shows in Indy are as well, great! This just happen to be one story I had heard about being out of the area...

Are you kidding me? This was genious. Think about it: It got people talking and made people get off their asses and let their elected officials know that they want the Colts to stay in town. This is probably some of the best radio I've ever heard of. But, of course, there has to be closed minded individuals such as yourself who don't get it and who try to ruin a great thing.

And you're working where, again?

Not in radio. This is good for radio? Give me a break.

Well Im Sure If Emmis Tried to Get the Colts RIghts Away from WFBQ for WIBC. the Morning MEss Stunt just probly stuck a fork in it. Emmis Would Love to have the Indy 500, the Allstate 400 at the BRickyard, Indiana Pacers and the Indianapolis Colts All in their House. but that will be a Moot Point. The Morning mess Better Stay away from the Pacers. or the Pacers could at the next time the rights are Up with WIBC and Emmis. ignore any offer from emmis and take the Bids from CC and ENtercom to put the Pacers on WNDE or WXNT

The Colts probably don't spend much money with Radio Now anyway. And don't they have a long term deal with Q-95? Not likely they'd be going back to emmis anyway since mr irsay likes rock and roll.

wacky dj stunts are just essential to get ratings !
just ask the people at wklu,,,,er oh wait never mind.

If...If...If...

IF the Colts people had any sense they'd lighten the F up and LAUGH at the whole ordeal! Nothing worse than a faggotty sports team that takes it self waaaaaaay too seriously. Instead of relying on an ancient PR consultant, they should poll the guys on the team. I gaurantee you they'd be like "Uhh...Who cares? What's the big deal? It's a radio stunt. Whoopy doo".

Arent sports supposed to be fun? WTF? Do the Colts expect ticket sales to DECREASE after a stunt like this? If they do, the Colts people are idiots, plain & simple.
