93.1 radio now morning mess

>
> Arent sports supposed to be fun? WTF?

Define fun...

...you mean like, say, an excruciatingly unengaging and unentertaining seven minute train-wreck of a bit where some half-talent "married with microphones" couple gives a completely self-important and unprofessional resignation on the air, thusly killing both their radio careers and making them pariahs not only in radio but on this board too?

Is that the kind of fun we're talking about?

No.

That is not the kind of fun we're talking about.

I am not Davin.

Maybe.......

1. THE COLTS SHOULD WORRY MORE ABOUT WINNING IN NEW ENGLAND.

2. and maybe WIBC'S News Team shouldn't follow up on news stories by calling the
scene of a story looking for a witness comment? (I don't understand what
your problem is with the WIBC reporter doing that. I don't think they
expected the guy that was chased by police to answer the phone.)

DJs with personality are important for ratings! Just look at Jack-FM,,,er oh wait, never mind. ;)

This was a GREAT stunt! Everyone in Indy was talking about it! If the Colts didn't leave Baltimore in this way it may have been out of line to a point, but it's what happened 20 years ago, and was going to happen again if the new stadium wasn't approved. Those upset by this are just upset that they will be paying for a new stadium for the next bizillion years and it really didn't happen. Just ask the voters of the counties involved in the tax hikes who turned it down how many times over the years?

For those who think this was a bad stunt, do you think Bob and Tom (if they would still be a local morning show) would have gotten the same treatment as the Morning Mess if they had pulled this stunt? Hell no!

I do not have a problem with following up on a news story by any means necessary. That isn't the issue. What is is deciding to put the caller on the air and launching into hostage negotiation, thus risking the lives of the hostage AND the hostage taker, to a lesser extent. There is a line when one has to say "ok-this is a job for someone qualified to handle the situation." Once again, this opens the floodgates to the sue-happy (ie-the suspect's family, who was nothing if not angry with the police for the way they say the situation was handled). If you'll recall, state police told them to STOP airing the call and to cease and desist even DISCUSSING it, in an effort not to endanger anyone.

No because Bob and Tom command a respect that Marco can only imagine...

Wow...the nerve of some people...a morning show KNOWN for pranks and ignorance pulls a stunt that drives the thorn in some of your a**es in just a little more and you get bent out of shape over it...

Why weren't you people this bent out of shape when your beloved Mike Doss was convicted of two misdemeanor gun charges only a couple weeks back. Or how about Nick Harper getting arrested for domestic battery on his wife? I wish the colts would pack their crap up RIGHT NOW and move out of this city...

THANK YOU MORNING MESS FOR THIS STUNT!!!

I wouldn't be suprized if the Colts attempt to sue Emmis in order to make up for that 48 million they needed to finish this rediculous stadium...Please explain to me why the colts players, owners, and investors didn't chip in to cover this 48 million? JOKES!! How about you win a few important games and stay out of marion county lockup!!!!

Back to the topic...the morning mess is definately one of the WORST morning shows i've heard...Marco needs a reality check...he's a pig...and the girls on the show are ANNOYING!! The only one that's even decent on the show is Phat Mikey. Regardless of my feelings towards this horrible morning show, this stunt was awesome! The only thing that would have made this stunt better is if The Morning Mess would have been cancelled because of it! :)

Boo the Colts...take your cry baby a**es somewhere else and as them for a billion dollar stadium!! My highways and roads need repaired (especially I-70)!!! Screw your stadium!!!

I'm not defending Marco, don't get me wrong, but the point is that it wouldn't have been taken like it was if it was done by Bob and Tom. It's not a respect thing, it's a "damn punks" thing, which most markets are guilty of. Bob and Tom do it, it's genius. Some half-assed morning show does and it's uncalled for. Swallow your ego. Take the Bob and Tom kilbasa out of your mouth for a second and give credit where credit is due. Like Marco or not (and I don't, personally and professionally) it was a good bit.

The thing that was funny was listening to how stupid people who live in Indiana really are. Moving trucks at the Dome? What for? To move the carbonation systems for the soda pop machines? The Colts complex is on 56th street. There is nothing at the Dome. To think people really believed that if the Colts were moving they'd be moving out of the Dome is really sad. Is that what a Hoosier is?
