93.3 Coast FM

I was on allaccess.com earlier and noticed that in WSNE's 7-day report, 8 of the 30 top played currents and recurrents are country crossovers. I wonder if Rick Everett has anything to do with this. And there's this overall sense that WSNE is sounding almost exactly like Lite 105 these days. Any thoughts?

I think possibly Coast is jumping on some country crossover that doesn't have much CHR potential whereas in the past there had to be more than just AC appeal. The Faith/Tim duet didn't go CHR & Rascal Flatts isn't going to make much of an impact outside AC. I don't know if Coast is sounding like Lite, but it's more obvious they're going against them. Maybe it's because of David Jones at Lite. I don't know. I notice Coast is also referring to 70s & 80s songs as Coast Classics. It's been a long time since stations that play currents called attention to non-currents as classics or gold in any way. I think Rick Everett is doing little things with the station that have improved it although I'd still rather see them "hotter" than "lighter".
