93.3 KYEW 1960 TO 1962

Hey Guys:

After doing my research from the broadcasting yearbooks I found this station:

93.3 KYEW On air May 6 1960 off air 1962.

Owned by Frank Bare Jr.

Would anybody know if the format was Classical or Country? I was thinking Country due to the KYEW calls.

Country was virtually unheard of on FM in those days..and tailoring call letters to the format was fairly rare, too.

I have an attorney friend who was involved in a short-lived FM around that time, but couldn't recall the call letters. I'll run KYEW by him the next time I see him. If it's the same station it was closer to beautiful music, with some Broadway show tunes, than classical.
