I noticed today that Coast began using new jingles! They are are from a package that I personally fell in love with when it was introduced; TM Century's Capitol Mix, produced for WRQX Washington (Mix 107.3) a few years back. It actually followed up other favorites of mine like Monumental Mix, Millenium Mix and a few others (Mix 93.1 in Springfield currently uses them and the old Kiss 99.9 in Portland, ME had them).
In any case, I noticed only the shotguns in rotation, so I assume they just wanted to get a few on the air for now and will produce the others later. My friend Jeff heard the weather jingle, but I missed that one. Cool stuff!
I personally feel that Coast with the wider variety they have added is sounding the best they have sounded since the mid-90s, and I would have to give Steve some credit for that. When he was at the helm back then, things sounded great as they do again. Props to you along with the music director and creative services director for all your hard work.
The seg's between sweepers and jingles have been tight since the latest voiceover talent for the imagery was selected about 1 1/2 yrs ago (in the automation). A lot of the stuff that used to occur like dead air after Delilah at midnight, songs fading pre-maturely before Delilah, and various other somewhat minor querks are all fixed up! For the person that is picky like myself and can appreciate the effort all around, I can really tell that they are trying hard.
Just some of my 2 cents... it's nice to hear some positive things once in a while
