93.3 The Planets' Breakers/Sweepers

In my opinion, indescribably good!

Some of the best I've heard, including the station itself.

The best Active Rocker I've heard.

The Radio hosts/personalities - Paige, Twisted Todd.

PD Mark Hendrix does an indescribable job of programming them & Rock101.

Hats off to the THE PLANET, if they have seen the needed to "Sweep Up". As for their format, I have only a general knowledge of that music. However,...for any format, if you are just running "Sweepers", with no rotation changes, you're just "Polishing the turd"! In 1999, I hosted a special 2-hour, Sunday night show on The Planet;
"The Upstate At Eight".
Technically, it wasn't my best, but in those 2-hours, every stop-set was sold-out, with annual, and semi-annual contracts; simple math!
As for WROQ, the person/persons making the actual programming decissions, is Lost! The station sounds the same as it did 5-8 years ago, and that playlist burn-out is the main reason for such poor ratings. Poor ratings =equals= poor revenue; more simple math!

I have to disagree. There is nothing good about The Planet.

The Rise Guys are terrible, the sound is terrible, and it's a pretty big fail overall for an "active rocker." They need updating badly.
There's a reason their ratings are always less than impressive.

Re: WROQ, I agree. They sound tired and need updating. Same old same old, over and over. I catch 105.7 The Eagle from Augusta, GA sometimes, and they do classic rock right. Funny...when Entercom took these 2 stations over on '05, I thought they would improve them, but they have done absolutely nothing! ROQ has had some good books though, but not lately.

The Planet does change the rotation.

Agreed about 'ROQ.

When I first started listening to them, they were indescribable.

But now, somewhat boring.

Hey CarolinaRadio,

You say 93.3 sounds terrible - are you talking about the audio chain?

You say they need updating - what kind of updating would you do?

Ditch The Rise Guys....they are absolutely pathetic. Audio chain, yes....it's awful! Not only is the morning show terrible, but they sound like they're in a tunnel. Music could be made more recent, and focused better, for starters. "Money" by Pink Floyd is a good song, but it's almost 40 years old...
