93.3 WLZT is now going by "Soft Rock 93.3"

Too bad one operator has such an unusually tight lock on the good signals compared to everyone else.  That's uniquely odd for a market this size.  The upshot is that CC Columbus is keeping formats like Classic Hits, Rewind or Adult Hits off the air for the wrong reasons (like irrational  "rationalizations" to cover hidden agendas and personal preferences), and we're doomed to see continued stagnation within the market's good-signal landscape.  As long as NCI, COL & TVN continue to pull in the revenue (aided by substandard competition), then CC corporate programming -- which has some smart people --will continue to "reward" Columbus management with a lot of autonomy or mere rubber-stamp oversight when it comes to format selection and programming --  a bad thing for the market.  I see occasional hints of corporate involvement in programming direction here, but not much and not where it's most needed.  Excessive corporate interference elsewhere can be a bad thing, but for CC Columbus it would be welcomed and would only enhance the "gimme" revenue success generated by the cash-cow stations.
