I think the original 99X began to decline when it changed frequencies with Q100, as 99.7 has the better signal. 100.5 was not as good, and limited to the north by WSSL-100 in Greenville. With that being said, I do like Q100 as a hit music station. And just recently Project 96.1 has flipped to CHR, becoming Power 96.1. So now when I drive to Atl from Gvl, I can keep my radio tuned to 96.1. There is a brief area on 85 from the Easley exit to the Anderson exit where Channel 96.1 from Clt and Power 96.1 battle each other out. Then, going south past the Anderson exit, all the Atl stations begin to tune in.
