93.5 compa music, into ID of WHTY, and site radiovisionmedia.com mention. locale is mentioned as "all the palm Beaches". presumably in Florida. this could be a sporadic E propagation, seeing 6 meter activity. there have been no fades, which normally are heard on 50kW stations from FL, going to presume local. full quieting near WMEX's Sagamore Creek tower ex-base. seems somewhat close (0.2 MHz?) to something local-ish. i seem to remember hearing red sox on 93.7 and even 93.5. probably WEEI interference potential here
99.9 this was a transient part-15 exceeding broadcast on wednesday night. it is a roving camper full of boomboxes and banana-dressed people awaiting to start the party wherever they may be. the transmit antennas were dipoles encased in PVC pipes. in this photo one can see they came prepared with a backup transmitter.
"they call themselves the distributed dance party" , but it is much more centralized than a bunch of people dancing in their parlors/workplaces/etc that has gone on via radio for a century. so pinpoint that i had trouble finding them - had to tune other frequencies to hear security personnel, hotel bellhops etc mentioning their direction on walkie-talkies. given the amount of whooshing wind blowing between buildings, NSTAR generators humming away near manholes, car traffic, couldnt hear them until i could see them - although they were audible on 99.9 as soon as exiting from a subway station many blocks away (thus the power suspicions)- a frequency which was not mentioned anywhere on their twitter or facebook - all the boomboxes were supplied by them, with the controls taped down.
welll it lasted till 11pm sharp when the BPD shut them down due to a Curfew at the Common
