93.5 in Crockett/Grapeland goes dark...

93.5 KBHT in Crockett/Grapeland goes dark as EEOC investigates physical and sexual assault on employees by Weston Entertainment/Allied Broadcasting CEO. This one should be for sale CHEAP!

Says nothing about physical/sexual assault. But the employees were locked out. They also wanted to buy the station from this guy, but he's not selling to them.

He got into the station van and straight to the bank (was he going there to at least cut his now former employees their final checks? Would be nice.....)

"We have decided that the best thing to do at this point in time is to turn off KBHT while we reevaluate the programming, format and staff, and how well they formulate with our broadcasting goals as a Christian corporation.” the article continues.

Pretty ODD statement to me, one that seems to have been made in an awfully big hurry (mention of a business's religion is something you don't often hear when they shut down.)

So regardless, I gather something awfully big was up and somebody needed to leave Dodge - QUICK.

But whatever.....

A shame. Just like every other business, our business also has some rotten apples, too. If this guy wants some defense money, I'll buy his station for 10K cash this afternoon!

Interesting. I don't recall the locking out of employees in the Bible.

That's ashame. I would listen to KBHT on my treks to Ft. Worth and felt they were a breath of fresh air amid a dial full of satellite fed small market stations and cookie-cutter formats. They broke the mold...live jocks, unique playlist, etc. I would have been a regular listener if I was local...seemingly the 5th listener according to the Wikipedia entry that claimed they had 4 listeners
