93.5 K-Love

Here in Lake Geneva, WI, we've had exceptional tropo over the last few days. I even bagged 17 new stations this morning alone.

One that still remains unID'd is a K-Love station on 93.5. I can't find a listing for K-Love on that frequency on Radio Locator or K-Love's own website listing.

I'm not a big fan of K-Love. They're music's great, but I can get them on 4 frequencies. 3 are within range of each other. That's almost as bad as the 10 (you heard right...10) NPR stations I regularly hear.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Can W228BZ-FM 93.5 Garden Prairie, Illinois be heard from your location? It could be that their translator receiver was swamped by the tropo coming in, and whatever receive frequency they use picked up K-Love instead of repeating their normal station? Otherwise, an email to K-Love engineering? Perhaps it's a new outlet for them and their website listing of stations hasn't been updated yet. Many of us know about R-L not being up-to-date...used to be better when it was the MIT List! I would like Air1 to be around here over the air myself...

FCC Database:
K228DW 228 D FX 93.5 MHz LIC HUTCHINSON KS 0.055 kW 51.8 m EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION
WOKR 228 A FM 93.5 MHz LIC REMSEN NY US 2.1 kW 172. m EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION
K228EB 228 D FX 93.5 MHz LIC PAMPA TX US 0.062 kW 116.7 m EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION

There are other applications or new by EMF for 93.5 on the FCC database:

http://transition.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/fmq?state=&call=&city=&arn=&serv=&vac=&freq=93.5&fre2=93.5&facid=&class=&dkt=&list=1&dist=&dlat2=&mlat2=&slat2=&NS=N&dlon2=&mlon2=&slon2=&EW=W&size=9

Of course EMF owns Air1 as well as K-Love so any of the above could be either. In a given area it's possible EMF swapped frequencies of stations or translators, so I'd check the Air1 list also...

Interesting theory, stormy01. W228BZ is a regular visitor here. However, I looked for K-Love stations on 88.1 (WSOG's original frequency) in the the same direction as WSOG is from Garden Prairie, IL.

I'll email K-love to see if they have a midwest station or translator on 95.3.

Maybe K-Love recently took over W228BZ. I haven't heard them since before 8/1.
