I know they hired some new girl from Vegas to handle middays since Brandi Garcia left to join another station in Vegas. All I can say about time its been jockless for 2 1/2 years

I'm a little scared as to what they're looking for, air-talent-wise...

What's the target audience? Are they going to go after the 25-34 white demo who were teenagers and actually bought all those late-90's hip-hop records?

More than likely it will be diverse dj's Latino's and Black's. Maybe a few vets from KPWR and KKBT. But seeing how flakey that station has been since its sign on in 2004 it makes you wonder what is their purpose for jocks now? I remeber reading a article online about Nautica De la Cruz leaving KDAY. Stevie Wonder wanted her to join KJLH. Wise choice seeing that their staff is more stable. Im still wondering why YoYo and Julio G left. Maybe old management Im sure they moved on. Im happy they are bringing some life to the station but they should start a new generation of dj's. People that grew up listening to orignal KDAY, KPWR and KKBT know what LA wants to hear.

Hasn't KDAY run that same ad every few months for the past couple of years? It would be great to hear live talent on air. Hope this time they're serious about it.

Im sure the vets of KKBT and KPWR are not taking it serious. It would be a perfect opportunity for internship students. Magic Broadcasting is a small company when they owned KDAY. Hopefully the new owners will do the right thing.

right now they are automated...which is obvious if you've ever heard their EBS tests. I doubt they will get anyone with ties to Power or The Beat, I think they want to distance themselves from that. But it would be nice hearing familiar voices again.

I heard the EBS test before. No one is working the control board 24 hours anymore. Most of the jocks from KKBT dont even live in LA anymore and Im sure KPWR vets are not really interested. Didnt a few jocks from KPWR a few years back slam KDAY on air saying their not real?

Theo was on for a while at night and I remember the Goodfellas doing afternoon drive. I agree though the station is perceived as flaky in the sense that in the past they didn't seem to stick to any plan for long. Lately they've been pretty consistent though and sound pretty good in my opinion. If they can find some jocks that sound genuinely excited about the music they play it would definitely be a plus.

You can do whatever you want go for it. If your in college now sign up for a journalism class internship program and apply for the street team. If that doesn't work try KHHT they are looking for interns now.

It depends on the new owners. Magic was real cheap when they owned it hence why nobody stayed around. They spend maybe 2 or 5 million on the new tower and thats it. Most of those flakey changes started when Theo took over as PD and well you all know the rest. Although I do have to agree with you PapiYankee they have been more focused now.
