93.5 translator

What ever happened to that frequency? Clear Channel owns it and was supposed to upgrade. Can anyone hear it? (I'm in Broward, so I can't)

I think that I have heard WIOD on it sometimes, from my workplace. Definitely not worth mentioning on-air!

I don't think I have heard 93.5 broadcasting WIOD for a few months now.

If WIOD/Clear Channel wants to be in the 21st Century, they need to not only get an FM, but one that has a huge reach, as many listeners are in cars. Translators just won't cut it. True, they are on 105.9's HD2, but we've been down that road before.

4 week bump.

I hear Rush L. near my work now on 93.5---I don't hang around for ID, but this has to be WIOD. I just heard it at home too. But I think that Reach FM is still there for Broward on the same 93.5.

This has been going on for about a week now.

A friend said he heard 93½ mentioned on 'IOD very recently.
I will listen tonight

Full Quieting with stereo pilot in South Beach.

This makes sense.
Many, many, many of my nocturnal Miami Beach taxi passengers are going from clubs, to clubs, want dance on my radio and W228BY covers south beach, midtown, and downtown like any full power station.
In fact, the only two stronger signals in this limited area have Z's in their names!

Forget I posted that. Their 250 watts are spotty everywhere, even within view of their building.
Driving from MIA (the airport) to the beach along the airport expressway, they were fading everywhere and had occasional bursts from the BV station cutting in.

Makes me wonder how much umph some of these undocumenteds are runing ???
They certainly don't have access to 150 meter rooftops.

I am hearing Christian Music on this station in different parts of Broward and Dade, so where is the Dance Music?

The Christian station is Reach FM, which has translators on different frequencies around SoFla. The dance station is best heard likely nearer to downtown Miami.

I work near the MIA airport, and the dance station dominates; but on the way home along Okeechobee Rd., Reach FM takes over around 116th Way.

I drive for Supershuttle and have tried to tune in to this station, but am hearing Reach, no dance music, so I guess I need to be closer to Downtown.

Hay SuperShuttle guy, Central Cab here. Evolution (W228BY) is pretty good near MIA, but their coverage relative to the Reach translator (W228BV) is not as good as the R-L coverage maps show. BY has a deep null to the north and BV has a moderate null to the south. I should be hearing BY city grade up to Bal Harbor with no BV, but the former starts fading into the later north of Author Godfrey Rd, are 50/50 by the JFK, and gone by Kane Concourse.
