W&J absolutely horrible - Hasn't CC figured out their untalented lack of success whether it has been in New Orleans or Houston by now?

and you havent figured out cc dont care. if they were playin the success game they wouldve kept d&r. proven selling ability and loyal listener base goes a long way, especially in a down economy. cc is playin the cost cutting game.

if cox sees the value on this one, they may invest in even more solid local programming for h-town. winning strategy if you ask me.

cc is going with more syndication while cox has publicly stated they are going with more quality local (think investment) programming.

sounds like something that should get applause on this forum.

Well theyre not coming back to kkrw because theyve never worked there before. However they are coming back to the FM dial. Cant wait til monday!

A giant enema needs to flush W&J from the bowels of radio, particularly Clear Channel. I guess they've done enough to destroy the 9-5-0 so they move on to KKRW, where they will drive the final nails in the coffin?

If there was justice in this situation it would be that mornings would be filled with music and the two asshats would only be allowed to read liner cards and introduce songs.

Chris Baker returns. Walton & Johnson back on FM. What else could go wrong?!  ???

Programming tastes aside, the big story there is that Baker's importing from another market and I assume W&J are in town sending their stuff down Prophet for the next market and station. Big savings. I never ask "what else could go wrong," because I think the Universe has a mean streak to accompany its sense of humor and can't help but overhear a good challenge. I guess we can see whether or not Tom Taylor On Radio-Info's 's right about that whole Black Friday thing. Or the CC gearing up for Chapter 11 rumor. I'm so bummed out that these things have happened been allowed to happen to radio in our lifetimes. I could have gone all my life without seeing the business we loved turn out this way, Sno. :'(

Say what you want but they must be doing something right to still be doing their show in Houston. If you dont like it, dont listen.

Never do. I'm one of those pesky people who likes information in the morning. Again, I wasn't saying anything about what they're doing right or wrong. I was taking a sad look at what it says for the business that every FM station in the chain cannot, evidently, afford its own morning show.

It's has taken alot of time and soul searching but I have to say I'm done with the Arrow. Not because of the morning show changes, but because of the music. I'm sick and tired of the same 300 songs over and over again. There are so many classic rock songs that I would love to hear but the repeating of the same stuff over and over again has finally driven me away. Believe it or not I have become a Buzz fan. Although I don't like some of their stuff, it is refreshing to hear some good current rock material. I think though I will become tired of it as well after some time because they do play the same songs over and over again. It's really getting frustrating. I'm afraid I'm gonna have to buy a HD system or switch to satellite to get what I want. Free radio is not cutting it anymore.

i dont have a dog in this hunt but why do i keep hearing how much w&j suck? looks like they are on in 10 markets. they gotta be doin somethin right.

if ya dont like em, ok. but to say they are running stations into the ground just doesnt fly. stations dont sign syndication deals with shows that have a pattern of failure. 10 affiliates in a world of shows that cant succeed in one market is definitely not failure.

im not a fan of their brand of radio, but its pretty obvious that many listeners are.

The Arrow used to be a hell of a lot better than it is now. I remember on my first visits to Houston years ago (mid-90s into the first half of this decade) how I marveled at the depth of their playlist. I'm sad to say that is no longer the case. Their Classic CD at Midnight is about the station's only redemption in my eyes, and half the time I can't stay awake to listen to that.
Their playlist is only slightly deeper than that of the Point.

Everytime W&J are mentioned on this board, the hater come out of the woodwork.

Fact is, when they were at KLOL, they were the only thing that kept people listening to that station. The playlist on KLOL is the reason it no longer exist as a rock station. Of course, when the company that own you also own the classic rock, and "so called" alternative rock station, that doesn't leave much of a playlist for you. I've always felt that if KLOL had a playlist more like KROQ in Los Angeles, they would have been more sucessful.

I'd be interested in seeing morning drive ratings for the W&J show when it was at KLOL and at KPRC. I doubt the number at KIOL are worth looking at seeing you couldn't catch that station much past downtown.

W&J suck so bad those fool sound like straight garbage on the radio now it is a matter of time before the arrow is sold I give the station 6 to 8 months when it is sold I bet the new the format will be either classical or jazz. W&J should have stayed on AM if not maybe satlite radio or nowhere damn they are garbage

I forget who the KLOL music director was at the time of the flip.
