93.7 RDS--Dothan

Excuse me if this is covered in another post amoung the multi-page TVY and 100.5 posts but I was in Dothan last night and noticed that 93.7 already has the RDS sending "US 93" as the moniker and format code is set to Country. Kinda getting the cart before the horse......

Charlie Wooten?

LOL

I'll never forget the night Charlie Wooten came into the studio at WPAP and told me to announce we were going off the air for a few minutes. I was like, ok..this song has about 2 minutes left on it, I'll make the announcement as soon as the song is over. He had a minor flip out and insisted I do it immediately.

I didn't.

He grabbed the mike from in front of me, shut the song down and made the announcement himself.

LOL, those were good times.

If that really is you then welcome to the discussion sir...maybe you are less high strung than you were back in the day sir....

Brett --- he was not as high strung but now, after your post, oh hell!
You obviously didn't offer him a beer quick enough. Rookie mistake. ;D

Where are you playn radio now?

Tibbs...I can still get pretty high strung when I have to deal with a smart/dumb a** jock.....but I am taking my blood pressure medicine so I don't have blow out.

Charlie Wooten & Mike Holderfield,Two great engineers for this area they know thier stuff.

Yes they do so I bet they are both doing the necessary things to anticipate what may happen just in case we get rain **** the space coast..18-24 inches. It'll be blowing from the East so Mike, since this is your first big storm in that building in a couple of decades; roof should still be good but old eng was the worst place, make sure somebody keeps an eye on the water that'll seep in around the windows in the old upstairs news room and run down the kitchen walls, also the roof access window in the upstairs hall. Might want to double check the big cat on the hill in the morning. If you haven't, and Doc hasn't, I bet you it hasn't been done. Call if you need me. Same for you CW and everyone else. Wind shouldn't be a problem in Dothan and not too much on the coast but power may go and roads and clean water and etc, etc. The lack of budget from the corporate pretenders (excluding cceng) may show quickly when the clouds thicken and the internet craps out.

It'll be interesting to listen and see who does what and is prepared for what, lots of new blood on the airways. I am tempted to put up a list but that would steal competitive advantages and since there are stations that do know what all needs to be done and prepared the communities can find it on the dial so if anyone would like to be kind enough to start a thread about the possibilities and what to who to have called. All I'll say is DON'T START A PANIC.

Just remember this === "if you worked with/or/for Charlie Wooten you worked for the best."
If you ain't around anymore, well, you aren't at below minimum wage, but still washed up.
Or you got smart and quit trying to make money in the most over radioed market on the planet...

Hey, he even got an award or two. Can anyone hold a candle to the man, the myth, the legend?
Radio is radio ,,, real radio is WOOT radio.

Yes I agree,PLEASE DON 'T SAY THAT GAS STATIONS WILL BE OUT OF GAS like last time this will drive the price way up.
Get your information right and official before you put it on the air.

WOW! Now I know who to blame for the high gas prices! What a powerful person! ;)

Ok let me clarify my above statment a little bit. This was done back when Katrina hit the coast by a certain female DJ.

Ah yes...my favorite quote on the air was a certain female dj telling listeners during Katrina to fill milk jugs up with gas! Way to keep the calm...
