93.7 The Arrow Shifting???

I just noticed that The Arrow is playing a bit more 80s tunes then they have before and it's not the usual Don't Stop Believin, Welcome to the Jungle and Pour Sugar on Me. I see bands like Rainbow, Billy Idol, The Scorpions. Could the station be shifting into more 80s and 90s rock? If so, it would be very bad ass to finally hear some Judas Priest and Pantera on the radio again, if they're going towards the more harder rock era of the 80s and 90s.

They seem to be shifting to that sound. Keep in mind a lot of 90's rock is becoming "Classical Rock" as well so you are probably going to be seeing a lot of that.

If they want to turn into like 106.9 use to be they will fail hard

used to be, how? Used to be like the 80's format or like the Alternative format "The Zone"? They won't go "Zone" as they own "The Buzz". All 80's are all played out, so don't expect that either. It is the natural evolution of "classic rock". I mean, after all, 20 years ago was 1992. Compare KKRW with X-1067 in San Antonio and they are worlds apart. X plays 80's and 90's which KKRW has traditionally not until this point, so it seems KKRW is apparently now "catching up" to the other classic rockers around the state.

Maybe someone over there realized it's time to tap into the second generation of Classic Rock.

I don't think the 80's really had a chance to play out. The Point was a joke with a VERY narrow playlist. The current HD-2 version is decent

This. Had Cox ever given an ounce of effort to evolving the Point, it might still be around today and doing well. As I've said here before and I know others have, a station that sounded the same in 2007 as 2001 never gave itself a chance.

I find them a bit more listenable than the Eagle, although the Eagle might have been listening to complaints about a small playlist and seems to have a bit more variety than they used to. Of course, the only time I listen to the Eagle is the time it takes for their HD-2 oldies on 107.5 or the Point on 106.9 HD-2 to lock.

I still think the two stations should stop competing, - one should go 60's and 70's classic rock while the other goes 80's and 90's. The could co-exist nicely. But if both try to be oldies / classic hits / classic rock from 4 decades = both will suck.

93.7 The Arrow should change into the AAA format, like the old 103.7 FM was.

The only problem to this I think is that the format is not of CC's liking.

I'd vote for oldies / real classic rock. Like highly rated oldies / classic rock stations in San Antonio and Dallas.

We already have one: The Eagle.

Which is a train wreck with a limited playlist.
