93-7

This is not good at all.
The FCC application has a fake name on it and the station itself is rebroadcasting KJMA 89-7 with bad audio. Another thing KJMA's director had no idea about 93-7 when I emailed him a few weeks back. The people at 93-7 need to be shut down.

From what you say, this doesn't sound too good. It very well could be the Director knows little of the the application. It might be handled by others within the organization. The fake name, however, if you know that for sure, is not good. I have seen applications where the board members had changed since the application was filed even though the IRS and FCC was aware of the changes (not enough changes in number to require an old board/new board application). I even know of one station where they added to the board to the point more than 50% of control has happened and the FCC has not been notified. I suspect it is not intentional on their part, just something they haven't caught yet. Those guys are very serious about following FCC Rules but they could get nailed by this oversight.

I believe it is a fake name, but I don't know for sure.

The name is ****** ***** (Editor's Note: unsubstantiated personal attack).

The station is broadcasting the Catholic talk programming from KJMA, so perhaps the 93-7 owner's playing a wicked joke? I believe Catholicism is a form of Christianity.

Not only that the station listed on the FCC application is KBNL in Laredo TX. KBNL cannot be received directly off air in San Antonio.

I think it's a fake name, because look at the mailing address. The mailing address is the same as the one for this guy, ABRAHAM FARID KARAM.

Abraham's CP seems okay and legit. **** is questionable,

(Editor's Note: unsubstantiated personal attack).

unless ***** is an actual person who lives with Abraham. If that's the case then I stand corrected.

Warning: unsubstantiated personal attacks and accusations will be edited. If they recur, the entire post will be deleted. This board is not a court of law or an FCC Administrative Law court. Any such issues should be directed to the FCC or pertinent authority. In such case, a post may contain a reference to a formal filing on the FCC site or even a news release, but not the allegation / accusation itself.

LOL I guess I tried to be the radio police on this forum last year regarding 93.7... It's still humming with the same application and nobody fixed it. I guess it's a lost cause.

I think the guy's name who is running 93.7 is Carlos. I emailed the email address on 93.7's application a couple months back and the guy replied back saying his name was Carlos and asking if I knew an HD signal they could lease.

However now 93.7 is off the air completely, and no other applications were filed. Who knows what's going with Carlos and his station?
