93.7's Mics dusted off today

93.7's putting it's studio to use for a radiothon for Franciscan Hospital for Children. They've been doing the pay-for-play thing, with some obscure stuff making it on. I wonder how many complaints they're getting for so much "dull boring DJ" talk today. They've had a lot of local TV newscasters and local celebrities on the air hosting.

Heard Channel 5's Kelly Tuthill (a cancer survivor) on-air this morning. She accepted a $250 donation from someone who wanted to hear "The Headless Gunnar" song (or whatever the actual title is). She said she wasn't familiar with the song. I guess neither am I. ;D

I.I.R.C. , Entercom did the same on 93.7 a few years back during its "Star 93.7" incarnation...

And I believe WAAF has also hosted a couple of these over the years as well.

I work for Entercom, sitting in the 93.7 studio right now. It's the day after our Request for Help, and we raised over $93,000! It's always wierd to hear live human voices on this station.

WAAF is doing their "Walk and Rock for Change" next week, December 16-18.

Started by Charles on WZLX in the mid90's.

"Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner" by Warren Zevon. Was off the Excitable Boy album from 1978.
