93.9 KissFM

With R/ACs across the country vanishing, should we start a 'death watch' for WKSL? Numbers aren't impressive. R/AC has vanished in Jax, San Fransisco, Salt Lake City, Dallas recently. They could always keep the Kiss name and segue to Urban AC or AC.

What do you all think of Kiss?

Maybe....but would that get in the way of G105.1? Last I heard they had sort of a rhythmic-lean but not Rhythmic CHR.

I think there is too much of that "Crap" already!

simple ...
flip G105 back to the more Hot AC/Alternative sound they had back in the late 90's and have Kiss lean more towards what G has been doing for the past several years, which is more rhythmic CHR.

Boys and girls...here are some things you need to know about 93.9:

1) It is Chris Shebel's baby. When the station tanked doing Christmas in 2007 he cried to everyone who would listen that it was a mistake that would set the station back two or three books. He was right but the station is still nowhere. Chris is in denial about that. He feverishly waits for every trend to prove the station is onto something. What they are onto is 10th 25-54. No "death watch" is necessary because Chris doesn't believe the station is even sick. Remember this is the same Chris Shebel who almost killed G by going rhythmic in 2003.

2) Sometimes the CC sales people push the station as urban and that gets them some black dollars but not much.

3) Average rate on the station on a good day is $40 but lately it can be bought with the rooster for about $25 a commercial. THAT PRICE IS FOR BOTH STATIONS COMBINED. Any of you watching who were there when it was the old 'RDU and Sunny have every right to puke. Blame that on sales managers who are over their heads.

4) G is just fine thank you. The station doesn't need to evolve or go back or lean like you morons are suggesting. G is the only station in the CC cluster that can get a decent rate. Why f with it?

5) Sunny was is and will always be a better choice for that cluster. But so was classic rock and oldies. It is way too late for reminiscing about the past.

;D Maybe CC and the rest will get some of Obama's Incentive or whatever he's calls it dollars!! Now that's an idea..Are any radio stations getting Stimulus bucks?? BET, BET is !!!
