Could The Ticket have gotten punched in? It's in mono.

Yes, but it's High Definition Mono for your listening pleasure.
greg.hahn said:You would think that it would be better than WPTI since the antenna is in the same place but 93.9 is twice the power. But it's not nearly as good, at least to the east.
We have a similar problem in east Central Indiana with a Translator on 93.9 in New Castle Indiana and WWFT on 93.9 in Indianapolis. be interesting to see if the translator has to be bounced when WWFT applies for its CP to upgrade to class B1radiohawkins said:This might be a dumb question, but here goes. If you look in today's sports section in the C-J under Today on Radio, you will see 2 HS games were to be on WFBR 93.9. Radio-Locator says WFBR is 100 watts. How/why is ESPN The Ticket and WFBR on 93.9?

WFBR should now be gone. They were a LPFM station licensed to First Baptist Church of Mount Mashington. 100 watts at 93 feet. Their license was granted on 8/26/2004.
Susquehanna was free to ignore this station and WJIE's translator, also on 93.9, when they proposed deleting their 50,000 watt Seymour station on 93.7, and adding new service to Sellersburg on 93.9, because full power stations have precedence over LPFMs and translators.
So the construction permit for this new station was granted over a year ago, but in the maentime Susquehanna went on the block, so they never built it. Instead, they sold the entire company to Cumulus, who has finally built this station and put it on the air.
To answer Scott's question: They put up a new structure on the National City building for their antenna, a 3 bay half wave. It's way too low. I'm going to do radiation measurements up there next week, because it's got to be a hazard. The bottom bay is less than 20 feet above the rooftop, and they are pumping 2.6 KW.
WPTI is a single bay, 35 feet above the roof, and at 1.35 KW we do OK on the RF radiation, but it's not a slam dunk by any means. I'll be surprised of there aren't some spots on that roof now where you don't want workers to stand.

With carfeul phase cancellation of the Cumulus Indy area station on 93.9, I am hearing 93.9 from KY 80 miles N of their site. It gets out at a distance well. Another DXer logged it in Muncie last night.

Most irritating person I've ever listened to on the radio. I'm very happy to finally have an alternative to him for my drive home.
