930 Milford heard in Newark

Spent some time today "surfing" the AM band just to see what was going on. Its been quite a while since I have taken time to do that.

Here in Newark, WDOV was coming in well. They actually are stronger in the house on my Grundig radio than they are outside. But the real surprise was Delmarva's 930 in Milford. I was getting a fair, almost listenable signal. I haven't heard them here in some time. I wonder what's up in the atmosphere today?

There was only noise on 1600.

I actually took some time to listen to WIP-FM. Being an old reactionary though, when I want sports, I still listen to WIP-AM thank you!

I too have been able to get 1410 WDOV quite well in the New Castle area in my car, not at work or at home (1380 DelDot covers over 1410 at home).

I too am able to get 930 AM a Spanish program. If that's Milford, then I'm getting it too. No 1600 AM though.

WYUS-930 has a fair sized lobe off the back of their 2 tower antenna system so that along with their low frequency let it get unto New Castle County fairly well. WDOV-1410 is a;sp directionakl south, it also had a fair daytime signal north. 1600 probably doesn't hit Smyrna with their system the way it is, last time I was there, it needed ALOT of work. An application they had to increase day power was also recently dismissed.
