9330 SuperPower Now On The Air

WBCQ's superpower 9330 is now on the air. Believe he's running 500KW which makes it the highest powered private SW station in the US.
Owner/GM/CE Allan Weiner reports it takes 4 men to change a PA tube on the vapor-phase cooled Continental transmitter.
No doubt, one of them is a plumber. (I've never seen a vapor-phase cooled transmitter that didn't have a puddle of water on the floor somewhere.)
On my DX392, I was getting 10 over S9 with the receiver's gain control turned all the way minimum.

I thought Stair was off. But if that's all they have for me they might as well go off the air. Dollar a hoiller strikes again. :(

Tuned in at about an hour and a half after local sunset here northwest of Chicago. Easily the strongest signal around or on 31 meters. (Of which there weren't many). Another preacher. i guess the lure of a massive signal is a bigger consideration than whether or not anyone knows its out there. Or would listen even if they do.

They must have been testing when I tuned in. Since then, all I've heard is the old, sort of weak, 9330 with Stair on it.
No doubt the monthly electric bill for the SuperPower transmitter has got to be tremendous. Probably 5 figures.

I checked it out a bit more closely, and these are old shows being replayed, since Stair referred to Obama as the current president. So there may not be much income from these, though anything would help to pay the enormous electric bill.

Heard an extended version of "Tainted Love" by Soft Cell tonight at 9:15pm from the station on my Grundig G8, all the way here in Bremerton, WA...

I think that was on the Johnny Lightning Show last night. Did you try that trick with the RF gain control? Glad I ain't paying that electric bill!
The Lightning show appeared to be live with four letter words and references to Father's Day, Japanese tankers and Trump's interview with George Stuffingenvelopes.
Their email for reception reports is [email protected].

Heard the last 6 minutes of a cool 70's prog-rock piece earlier tonight, queuing into Blue Cheer's "Summertime Blues", and signal was a decent S4 here in the PNW.

I suppose that from Maine, they will officially plan on serving Mexico.

Off the top of my head, wasn't Blue Cheer's cover of "Summertime Blues" 1968? Minor detail....still an alltime favorite of mine.

I do not remember how their new equipment is set up but I hope that after they realize how expensive this arrangement is going to be, that they can split their super transmitter into several smaller ones.
Even if I were going to transmit one program feed to one area, I would still rather do it with 3dB less umph but with frequency diversity on adjacent bands and maybe spacial diversity into different antennæ.

LOL really.. i dont think thats possible.

Plus all airtime on the 9330 super station to WLC Mninistries, the flat earthers

And WLC paid for the new transmitter and antenna

Plus you cant separate one transmitters into smaller ones

You're thinking that its a dual redundant transmitter, a popular design, which could be separated. You would need a separate exciter though.
But, as I understand it, this transmitter has only one tube in the output stage.
And being a Continental, its probably a Doherty modulation system.
