939 MIA becomes MY 939

Not so much of a flip as it's the same "variety" format. More of a change in staff...Paul Cubby Bryant is out and Joey Brooks is voicetracking mornings (Nathalie still doing entertainment). Long time staffer Chanel is out (who is local and on sister station Mega 949) and Ramiro is in on the drive home. Mario Lopez syndicated show still on evenings.

Yeah, because it's 2002 and the "My" brand still has some semblance of popularity behind it.

Sweet Jeebus, just give me these licenses. I'll buy the facilities for a dollar and run them better than these morons ever could.

Maybe this change will stick. However it takes listeners from y-100. Chop Chop.. again.

93-9 M-I-A and My 93-9. Not only does the music sound the same, but even the new name isn't that different. Yawn.

If they want better ratings, how about trying to promote the station? Or hire some local talent that can do old-school appearances and be able to talk on the air about local stuff happening.

Should we take bets about the ratings?

MIA started as a Rhythmic AC, went more CHR, and now is a Hot AC.

Too many stations in this town play nearly exactly the same music.
Y100
Hits 97-3
Power 96
My 93-9
and I think one of the Spanish FM's play some English-speaking hits, too.
