94.1 en espanol

I feel bad for those who worked at 94.1 in Morristown, because of the flip to Spanish. I worked there for two years, from '89 to '91. I feel even worse for those who had worked there before East Tennessee Broadcasting bought them. Apparently, after ETB took over, there was a house cleaning and some of my good friends were let go. They did bring back Vicki Todd and Paul Meador, but I'm sure even now they don't have a job. The one question on my mind is, "Who in Hamblen County is gonna buy commercial time on a Spanish station? Two words: tax writeoff.

I went thru the same thing in SF, although the new owners offered to keep me. I guess those seven years of Spanish in junior High and High School came in handy.

I hope your peeps locate new gigs soon.

Selling the air time would seem difficult, especially if they kept the sales staff they already had. Can't imagine that they're in touch with the new listeners.
