Posted by: oldjohnny- So what format is KTFM now? They have changed a lot of things since I last listened. I know it is not old school anymore.

IMO, the format is similar to Jammin 105.9 in Austin or KTU in New York.

How do you know? How do you know I am not some old lady with a horrible taste in music? Point being, assumptions are the worst mistake a person can make.
Hey Big Boyee "Hook me up" .........................................Like the drunken Tejano says, "yus pullin yur leigh vato!" Hahaha, Hey Big Boyee, You are actually one of the few DJ's I enjoy listening too. Everyone seems to be really strict on the air, but you are something else once 7 PM hits. Too bad I can't listen everyday, I'm limited by KHTC here in Bryan TX.Bigg Boyee said:TheRadioJudge said:saradio1 said:You might not like the music but your also not in their target demos.

If BMP keeps rolling the format wheel on 94.1, they are doomed for disaster, They are far away from the Jammin 94.1 they started with and now they decide to add LL Cool J with Donna Summer?????, give me a break, this station is a mess, stick with something, or start all over again (but not like the last couple of times).TheRadioJudge said:oldjohnny said:wouldn't it seem more obvious to just return the legend KTFM to 102.7 and gain back loyal fans of the old KTFM.
Okay maybe I come off as pessimistic here but I dont mean to. Think of me more as being realistic. Where were those "loyal Fans" when KBBT came in and raped KTFM hands down? Look I was a fan too but we gotta think more 2008 people. KTFM is gone. BMP is still trying to hang onto the idea that KTFM can somehow bring back those incredible numbers that it used to for all those years. That will never happen again. I have two friends who are ex jocks and they both have very different opinions about that station. One says that was when radio was radio. The other says KTFM was never really good. It was just all San Antonio had to listen to for so long. That is the only reason it was popular. What do you guys think?
In my opinion I have no problem with KTFM. I just wish they would get it together and figure out a format they want.

Back to the topic on KTFM, I haven't been to San Antonio in a while, but last I checked in, they let their morning show go. Anyone know where they are at nowdays?
Also, I know Jack is one of the bright spots in San Anto, but wouldn't it seem more obvious to just return the legend KTFM to 102.7 and gain back loyal fans of the old KTFM. Seems to me that they would be able to probably give a good fight to KBBT since we all know KPWT is pretty much a "no show" and they could give Univision a scary run. Putting Jack @ 94.1 also wouldn't be a bad idea since they wouldn't be on such a bad signal. Just my 2 cents.
saradio1 said:Univision and Clear Channel would hate to see the return of 102.7 KTFM. IMO, I don't believe BMP Radio has what it takes to do it right. Someone gave an example of LL Cool J being played right before Donna Summers. While their both good artist, they don't belong next to each other. The main problem with 94-1 KTFM is that they have the wrong PD and an unexperience assisting PD. Currently KTFM has a lot of good music being played however; there's also music that doesn't belong such as Quincy Jones, Cheryl Lynn and Heatwave to name a few.
Posted by: TheRadioJudge- in my opinion, they need to step into the year 2008. drop the logo that looks like a mirror image of the old ktfm, quit playing the tired freestyle and other caca that the old ktfm used to earsore this city with and just move in a completely new direction. they have a good signal, they could do lots with that alone. i mean how many times can someone play debbie deb or that godawful im with the dj song? if bmp handed me ktfm and said have at it and do whatever you like i think i would go after kiss. that is not my favorite kind of music but i think some direct competition would bring more versatility to san antonio
saradio1 said:We've seen too many stations go against KISS and they're no where to be found today so that would be a mistake. Personally, I think KTFM is heading in the right direction but it's needs to be tweak up a bit. Another thing to remember is that KTFM is targeting the females in their 30's and 40's which that was the time Freestyle ruled the airwaves in S.A.
